If you remove the interior light from a VN to VS Calais/Statesman you will find it has two part numbers, one Ford one Holden.

Camira engine manufactured for other makes, ie Nissan and star fire 4 used in Toyota.

Would the clip holding the window winder come under the same classification of screw etc, as it is a retaining device? Very good nomination though and I would consider it to be legit.

Paint colours. As Byron has said that honour would probably go to one the fleet colours, some of them run for decades.

Imperial to metric was a gradual change, they didn't change all of the threads at one time. The earliest metric threads that I can remember would be radio & cassette mechanisms in HQ/HJ & the seatbelt mount threads in HX. Commodore introduced metric threads to the majority of body parts, but imperial threads were still around in Holden 6 & V8 engines & Tri-Matic & manual gearboxes in VK/VL & they still existed in the 5.0 EFI in VTI & VSIII.

I may stand corrected on this point, but I doubt that there are any imperial threads in any Holden since the year 2000 (except for the thread on the Gen 3 & 4 V8 oil filter).

Whilst on the subject of screws/bolts, I recall that EH bolts were made by Ajax. Were all screws/bolts made by them? and if not, how many manufacturers since then?

I wasn't going to count 'service' parts but yes, I think that is the answer.

You need to be more definite though, I think think that the 21W blinker & 21/5W stop/tail would be the only ones. All of the other 'bayonet' type globes have now become wedge style.

Regarding the longest ever part discussion, it probably isn't a winner but Optikleen must be worth an honourable mention.
Was in a SAAB garage the other day and they were selling bottles of it that looked much the same as Holden were selling in the Seventies!
