Not sure if my attempt at attaching a link will work (I was away the day everyone else was taught how to do it), but here goes.

http://www.ebay.com.au/i...4604834d37#ht_500wt_1192

http://www.ebay.com.au/i...971803005#ht_2464wt_1175

Are these prices realistic?

The price of that VL is way over the top for a stolen recovered car missing two of three id tags.

You could buy 4 blueys for that price. Utter the words "Brock Commodore" to someone and first thing they say is "VK" or "Bluey"

That VL keeps getting advertised. Funny thing is they have zero feedback and when you look at their other listings, they have a lot more cars for sale. Car is too over priced anyway.

Agreed Keith, except that I don't think licenced motor dealers on ebay can accrue feedback points.

Agree the VL is overpriced.Even with ALL the tags.

On the provenance issue. I have edited my comment about this for two reasons. 1. I made the comment based on what I read in this thread only, with no prior knowledge of the car or its story. 2. I accept the quality of some information privately sent to me after I added the comment in my post.

Incidentally, I would buy an homologation special HTD before any other HDT.....The VK "Group A" is the Phase Three of HDTs. Not as "junk yard dog" as a HO3 but created for the same reason....As much as I would like a VG GRPA, the Phase three is on the top of my bucket list.

Those strange, rare HDTs are difficult to price. Mainstream worships the "pure" HDTs i.e. VC. VH GRP3 VK GRPA etc....even the VL HDT GRPA and GRPA+ but there are people out there who will pay big bucks for the oddballs too.

Still, I reckon that it would be hard to shift a Director at three to five times the price of a VK GRPA.

Cheers.
Nick.
