Gday all
I have a HK kingswood, 186, manual, a couple of slight dings in the bumper but in pretty good condition. Engine runs really well. It was bought awhile ago by my father and has sat in the shed on our farm. I have moved away but from memory and a few pics i have it would need a respray as it is a bit faded ( light blue with white roof ) but no real rust and only 35,000 miles on it. Runs real well and i'm just trying to get a bit of an idea as to what it might be worth as it is or done up? I've looked at carsales.com.au and am not sure if the prices on there are accurate or if people are dreaming with some of them. Sorry if it's a bit of a vague question but if anyone has any feedback or can guide me to the best place online to satisfy what i'm after then that would be really appreciated.

A car like that would probably run to $7500k or maybe more on Ebay. |

It has to be a $5k plus car. Is it a 3spd or 3spd synchro (hydraulic or rat-trap clutch mech)? Front discs? Looks like minor front guard rust, a couple of stainless strips and a rub down and paint the outside. Perfect candidate for some paint, brakes/shocks etc and a V8. I'd be fitting a 308, V8 3spd and leaving the rest as is. Even a 307 and 3spd using a Dellow/CRS TH to aussie box bellhousing and hydraulic cylinder operation. |

thanks mate, it's a 3 speed non synchro. my dad bought it on my urging after coming across it in a small country town. i have taken it for a drive a couple of times and it goes really well but to be honest i live away from where it is stored and i haven't taken a detailed account of the rust, minor dings etc. not sure about brakes etc, my brother is getting the numbers off the plate and i'll track down through holden a bit about it. i grew up around machinery and cars and to my untrained eye i reckon it seems a really solid car with very low miles. thanks again for the help.

would have to be 135,000miles at least. or sandpaper hands on that st/wheel. yes agree with 81837 5Kish regards DD

Yep they are still out there. Compliments to your Dad for putting it away and to you for being diligent with in now.
Nice car. Agree with Dave that it is likely 135oomls but you never know.
Things like logbooks and maintenance recpts would help if you want to claim 35000 as part of its condition otherwise don't bother trying to claim that. It is either a slightly ratty low mileage car or a good medium mileage car.
It will sell itself. It looks like a good car.If you are interested in cars it would be a lovely old thing for weekend cruising so you should consider fixing and enjoying for a while if you can.

once a upon a time it would of been a $500 car, u may very well get $5000 for it but you need to find the right buyer, good luck

I bought at least three circa 5-10 years ago for around the $500 like that car. All except one has been cut up for rust repair sections for my Monaros. |

My opinion.
It would likely be 135,000 miles
$3000 without a roadworthy cert, $5000 with a RWC |

thanks everyone for the replies. i don't have anyway of proving the miles and i agree it would more than likely be 135,000. my old man bought it from an old pensioner bloke in a small country town who had owned it for ages and had got too old to keep driving it. was a really nice old bloke but prob got confused about the miles perhaps. he definitely didn't try and scam dad at all and by all reports was an honest old fella but without proof i know i'd be sceptical about it only doing 35,000 so fair enough to others who are the same.
