There are others on this site that know more than me & so far the numbers are OK, but does it have an HDT ID plate ? If not it's probably not a Brock.

Are you sure the date is correct. ? If it's Oct 85 it should be a VK.

Dr Terry
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

The numbers say it's a VK sedan.

The 134 pack is a manual SL. Quite common to find, and with some exceptions, these got the "hot" engine in them (only the manuals) as part of the 5000 units required for Group A homologation.

Considering there's well less than 5000 Brocks in total build, even fewer VKs, and when you take out the SS, Group 3 & Group A numbers, even fewer again, your chances of it being an ADP (think HDT improved package) are pretty slim.

By October '85 HDT were riveting the build plates onto the firewall, so it's unlikely it's a Brock, as nobody in their right mind would remove it.
Cheers,

Mick

thanks for that fella's, i just spoke to him, no hdt plate on the car, and yes it is a vk. its sitting in a shed & the owner thought it was a brock, i think my friend can get it for not a lot, about $1500.00 has to be worth that i would say.
i know nothing about commodores but he asked my opinion.
thanks again

Inlet manifold part number will end in '955
Heads will have a crudely scratched B or X cast into one end of them.
Sump will have rows of spot welds along the sides from the oil scrapers that form part of the windage tray setup.

Everything else is easily changed (like the wide-mouth aircleaner), or simply not visible (like the rods & double-row timing chain).

And finally, the engine prefix, however it's no guarantee after 25+ years and numerous possible owners.
The "hot" engine is option code V5H. Prefix should be VB or VG for a factory manual from '85. If it's anything else, then it's been changed.
VB prefix had all the good bits, including the big-valve heads.
VG prefix had everything except the big-valve heads.
Cheers,

Mick
