My car fails to pick up on acceleration. Spits and pops. Anybody know a solution do it yourself. Also is it easy to strip and clean a regulator ?? Rgds Mike |

What sort of car? If it's a 6 cylinder BA/BF then you probably need 6 new ignition coils to sort it out.

Hi Jim Thanks for reply. Pajero4x4 1985 4 cyl Being going great for 4 years and just now started to not pick up on acceleration. I wondered if I took the regulator apart and cleaned it that it would solve the problem. |

Is it backfiring at all (you describe spitting and popping).
How old are your ignition leads?
LPG engines do not thrive with marginal HT leads. My old Falcon blew it's air cleaner lid off shortly after being converted to LPG. I replaced the leads with a decent set of Top Gun Leads and the problem went away until I replaced the engine with a good second hand unit but left the "new" engines leads on it.
Back to popping so I replaced the leads and all good.
Same with my BA which has an Airod system it was terrible until I replaced the coils.

Leads nearly new good quality. No backfire just spits and pops on acelleration.
No problem on petrol. runs well. Just started doing this about three weeks ago.
My gut feeling is its short of gas when I power up. Runs smooth on gas at low revs, just plays up when I put my foot down. Rgds Mike |
