Hello all,
All of my favourite searches that mention any name of car seem to bring up "cars" & nothing else.

So I did a test search and typed "ford" then selected "cars bikes and boats" The search came back with about 2,700 vehicle and nothing else no parts no memorabelia nothing.

If you do the same with say "Holden" or "commodore" I bet you get the same result.

So is it just me or have eBay got themselves a really broken search function at the moment?

If it is not just me then people selling car parts are at a serious disadvantage right now as their items are not showing in searches.

I just did that by typing "holden" and going to "cars bikes and boats" in eBay.com.au NOT in ebay motors and I get about 1,700 cars and nothing else. I search "commodore" and I get 1,515 Commo's

A mate got the same as me when he searched.

Nope, Ebay have replied stating that they have made changes to "streamline" searches but all they have done is stuffed them completely.

They have removed "parts and accessories" out of "cars bikes and boats" so your searches are probably not coming up with any cars at all.

My mate says that if he goes to eBaymotors it workes and it works by using advanced search but if you do a normal search it just comes up with cars and nothing else.

Public pressure is the only thing that will fix this change but no one else seems to be able to break the search.

I wonder if that is simply a case of the listings that are ending soonest are still within "cars bikes & boats" as that is where they were listed as being. Did the number of listings change?

um cant remember if the number of listings changed but did go to the 2nd and 3rd page to check, found it odd that the time between say the 1st and 2nd listing was like 30 minutes appart when there was over a 100,000 parts, changed it to time ending soonest and back to a part finishing every few seconds but cant remember the if the total numbe of items changed
