Hi all!

Just a (hopefully) quick question, is there a steel rim in 6 inch that will fit a VT commodore other than the "Chaser" style??

I am looking for a visually old style rim or even a smoothie that will take a hub cap and not have the chaser style drilled holes in it for an EK project

Vn commodores had steel 14" plain rims, they didnt have lugs for hubcaps though, you could weld a couple of lugs on pretty easy. Only drama would be if you have the vt brakes, the 14" rims may not clear the calipers.

That's right, the 14" rims won't clear the larger dual piston VT calipers (they won't actually clear the single piston finned caliper used on VL V8 & turbo, VN-VP1 V8 & V6 with FE2, or all VP2-VS commodores either).

I think you'd need to look at one of the rim makers who could put a 5x 120mm stud pattern 14" commodore centre into a 15" stepped rim.

The dodgy people out there would go & fit 5x 4.75" stud pattern Chev/Pontiac 15" rally wheels & ignore the dangers.
Cheers,

Mick

Thanks Guys,
Yeah Mick, that is what I have been told by a (fairly) reputable wheel place to do, or they offered to elongate the holes for me - but would not guarantee the engineer would pass them! I am not about to stuff the whole project up for the sake of a few holes in the rims!

HMMM have to chat to a few more places re the 14 centers into 15 hoops, sounds like it may work, just have to check clearance issues on the brakes with the step down rims it was tight on the rims I already have now with the 300 brakes
