Keith, it is alluded to in other posts, such as silverfox. It was also quite well known amongst the bigger players in the KTG market. Whether or not they want to post here is up to them. Also, they changed the manufacturing process 12 months ago so this should be another clue (people dont usually change a process for no reason).
I cant speak on the Toyota issue but you seem to be making a fair few assumptions which aren't relevant unless you know all the facts.
As I said, my personal opinion is that RS didnt act very ethically and seem to have been hoping this would be swept under the carpet rather than doing the right thing.
Dave Ryans silence on the timeline should also be a clue. I know if someone suggested I might be shonky and I had evidence to refute it I would be speaking up.

I'm making assumptions??? About what??? Toyota?? It's on the ACCC website about Toyota's recall. Don't know about any other "assumptions" I made. That is the thing, I don't know the facts, same as many here reading this, which is why I didn't comment on the issue until you made your statement. What you say about the "bigger players" is all hear say. Unless they are prepared to come forward, it is all considered hear say. Hear say won't be heard in a tribunal or court.
Anyway, that's the last I will comment on the matter as it doesn't concern me. If the caps are dangerous, I just hope nobody is injured or worse.
And again, you have a mighty fine weekend.

"I guess Toyota knew about it a long time before they were "forced" to issue a recall. They get "forced" from many customers complaining about the product before it happens,"

Those assumptions

Nice one. You come in here calling me a troll, on a subject you know nothing about, throw out a few strawmen and irrelevant details about another recall which you also know very little about, then run away with your tail between your legs. pffft

You seem to be a liar and an idiot. (Definition of seem: "to appear to be true, probable, or evident", so lets get this straight now, I haven't called you a liar or idiot, it's just appears that way). I called you a troll? Now lets see "Not trolling are you glotnik?". Asking a question maybe, but not calling you a troll. But I'll will now because you are, boy, just stirring the pot. You seem to have a persecution complex boy which is evident by me questioning your harsh comments and you firing up the way you did. Anyway, this is the last from me as your not worth the effort and it is off topic. But don't let me stop you (as you're the type that always has to have the last say, stems from the way you were treated when young) as you will get your post count up.
Have a terrific weekend now, won't you.

A recall for any manufacturer is a large decision and the process can be slow. Whether you like Rare Spares or not it is a fact that the Company was started by a keen enthusiast with an eye for a market the car manufacturers could see. Those early risks resulted in a company with resources large enough to afford bringing things like the hubcaps to production. It is reassuring to see Rare Spares finally stand behind the product. I for one would like to see Companies like Rares Continue to invest in good quality products for our needs.

Its all very well telling us how someone started the company with good intentions and now they are big enough to bring us products like hubcaps. However it is the only purpose of the company to bring us products like hubcaps isn't it?
More to the point, what is the use in making products that are nearly correct and nearly good enough to use? They need to be 100% correct as the customer base is restorers and not people just trying to keep cars going now.
As for faulty products, that is unfortunate and all manufactures must go through these problems, however it is how they rectify the problem that sets some apart from others.
