This should help:

The spacers (labelled 3 in the diagram) are different heights. The taller one goes on the driver's side

Thanks Squeak327, I tried putting them the way you suggest but my headers were hitting the chassis rail on the passengers side. So I shelled out for another set so I could put two tall ones on but could not fit the drivers side one on as it did not line up. Maybe I have the gearbox and motor too far forward though then again the rocker cover is pretty close to the windshield motor housing anyway. Well thanks again at least I am heading in the right direction and am sure of thing now.

No probs bogart. WIthout knowing what brand the headers are or whether you have aftermarket heads etc etc, you may find this link interesting if not helpful:

http://www.aussiev8.com....-extractor-problem.html

Turns out he had HK headers in a HT and they fouled on the chassis rail extension on the passenger's side (HKs don't have these). He also had aftermarket heads which may have made a difference and he ended up using 'tuff mounts' in place of the standard engine mounts, modified the extractors themselves and fabricated a new gearbox crossmember. An awful lot of mucking around but he made it work in the end.

This link shows his build thread and has pics of the clearance extractor/rail that he ended up with.

Cheers Squeak327, my headers are block huggers and are fairly old. I also have a set of pacemakers that were given to me and am hoping to fit them when the readies are available though after reading that thread you gave me might just leave well enough alone.
Thanks again for taking the time and putting in the effort to help me out.
Pete
