How long is a piece of string? You don't mean a 350 2 barrel motor? If you refer to the 2-bolt mains engine as fitted to a Holden Monaro or Statesman, the 350 had 275 horsepower according to Holden. But the rating for the engine with 9.0 CR was less in the US. The HQ version was also less than the claimed 275 horsepower.

To make the power you indicate will require a smart approach to the build and will need cylinder head work of some sort as a minimum. An engine is simply an air pump and what you do is to make that pump more efficient by improving volumetric efficiency.

You don't need a different carby as the Qudrajet is more than adequate for 300-400 horsepower as it flows 750 CFM standard.

Remember too that there is real fair dinkum horsepower and bench racing horsepower. If you tell a shop to build you a 400 horsepower motor they will gladly respond but it may not produce that power when put on a lie detector dyno.
