Hi,ive heard there is a switch on the back of these HK GTS tachos that you flick when changing over from a 6 to a V8.
Has anyone done this and will i need to take the tacho out???

There is a switch but u need to remove the tacho from the console and take the gauge out of the black rubber housing, ensuring not to damage the housing, take your time easing it out as i have done a couple with success. You will find the switch at the back of the tacho. Iirc there is even provision for 4cyl on some...not sure why. |

Greetings, I have one of these as a paperweight and it has a switch with settings for 2,4,6,8 cylinders. I have read somewhere that the HK tachometer was a generic item supplied to Holden for their cars. When the tachometer moves to the dash proper in HT, the unit is a specific Holden item with only 6 and 8 cylinder settings as there were only two engine types to choose from and no need for the generic settings on the impulse trigger. |

So,before i try seperate the tacho from its housing...ive already put a very small tear in the rubber so i dont really want to keep trying...are you saying that i dont have to flick the switch??? It will be great news if i dont have to.
