I don't know if you want to travel, but there is a sweet HR Prem in Dysart, Qld.
White, black interior. Bunch of X2 options. Looks stock. Owner is asking 10K.

According to Holden engine codes, 186S code is for HT,HG and HK only, no mention of GTS Monaros. Just as the X2 engine code is 186X and only HR X2 and HR S had this engine K code

Standard 186 for HK-T-G is 186P -130hp and HR is 186A , 186S was an optional motor rated at 145 hp It was the standard engine in the 6cyl GTS

David, 186K not 186X for HR X2 and 186S. HD had an X code is 179X for X2.

As Cloudy says 186P is the standard 186 for HK (and the high compression version for HT-HG). 186L is the low compression 186 in HT-HG.

If you want a good 186S, this is smick, even has books and correct motor, so would assume its the real deal. I did notice owners added a manual choke though. Price, hmmmm, well they don't come up for sale often.

Yeah, I agree about the price, I would say owners trying to get some of the restoration cost back.

David, the 186s you have found doesn't happen to be white with black trim? Trying to find current owner of 186s prem I had 10 years ago as I recently found its original sales receipt. Had slightly less miles then the one you describe above at the time I sold it.

Hello All,
I have for sale a HR Holden sedan & 327 Chev engine with an Engineers certificate to match the numbers, the motor is not currently in the car, the car currently has a 186 motor in it. The car has some minor front end damage where it rolled away when no one was in it and hit a pile of wood.
The car was running three years ago when I purchased it for a project, however now with a little one on the way I no longer have the time to complete and the money would be great, so the toy has to go. As you would appreciate you can no get an engineers certificate for this combination.
Sorry I dont have photos at this stage I will get some in the next couple of days and post them.
I havent thought of a price so Im open to offers.
Owen
