Hi
Can anyone help with one of these? Looking for genuine new or as new. Looking for the part number also. I have looked in blue HK parts catalogue No:M37170 April 1972. It lists the box but not the rubber. I have seen these separately in a box with GM-H part number.

3148473 is the part number in my yellow M36640 book, how does one tell NOS from one of those above?

The Summit one is made by OER (Original Equipment Reproductions) who state that "these OER evaporator case drain hose replacements are unique reproductions of the originals".

Is the RS one a genuine replacement part under the agreement with GMH?

Both companies are using the GM part number.

These 2 items are not close to th original.... In the rares spares world 50% of somethingis better than 100% of nothing... But the one they sell is so wrong you may as well leave it off...

Oh well, I live and learn, not into concourse so haven't given that sort of thing much thought.

To 80569K and HQGTS. Thanks for your comments.

I understand that those drains are OK for American GM cars and are functional.

The Australian ones were unique to Holdens so am looking for the Aussie one. The main difference is the duckbill (mouth) bit is a bit longer and has a kind of "wave" shape to it.

Can anyone help?

The ones pictured aren't correct for HK/T/G heater boxes but are correct for the HQ-WB factory a/cond evaporator housing.

No, as they do fit. Just not concours correct.
Rares do have licensing arrangements for some GMH products.

Can anyone help with the bit I am looking for?

Interesting use of that part number then.

In the day it wouldn't have meant much, I guess it wasn't worth their while to open another part number for a local equivalent with minor differences.

Means a lot now though, aye.

They are pretty easy to make and very hard to tell the difference from the factory unit.

But it has been a while since I have done one and I do not have any of the materials around any more.

So if you draw a blank with a genuine one, let me know.

Generally GMH have different part numbers if the part is even slightly different , Headlamp rims unpainted , Grilles without mouldings have M part numbers . In this case they are defiantly different it would be interesting to know WHY maybe it was a later improvement I will see if we can get the drawing which may shed some light on the subject.

Durwin's offer is most appreciated.

A good mate has found a damaged one for me which I feel could be repaired.

This is what this site is all about.

In the meantime I am still looking for a good used or New genuine bladder. Any help or info would be most appreciated.

i bought 2 @ monaro natts in warwick sept 2010 & paid heaps coz was told one sold on ebay that same week for over $500. sold em both at busselton natts in oct for $395 ea.

Greetings, Are you aware that there are varying thicknesses to these items? I have noted a wide range of rubber thickness and there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why. Different suppliers perhaps? My car has a 'thick' whilst mates have thick and 'thin' and some in between. The 'thick' type seem to hold up better over time.

Hi Dave and Git.

Dave, I remember discussing that with you. Four hundred dollar baldders....Amazing.

Git I spent some time with Ben yesterday and we discussed the same thing. Theory we came up with was that the thicker ones might have been used at the beginning and possibly discovered they could do thinner ones saving a cent or two per car. GM-H was well and truly into cost saving.
