Hey guys,

This morning (3/1) my uncles LJ Torana Coupe was stolen. Its a factory S model but was made into a GTR XU-1 replica to a very high standard with mainly all original GTR and XU-1 parts. She is purple with black interior, the respray on it is only about a year old.

Running gear was a 186 with triple SU's and a 4 speed.

She was stolen from the work car park in Melbournes west between 5:40 and 6:00 a.m. Surveillance cameras showed a white triton tray ute and a black jeep or something similar. Video couldn't get the rego.

If anyone has any info or can offer any help at all please send a message with any details.

Thanks in adavance

thanks mate, yeah my uncle is absolutely gutted. took him about 2 years of blood, sweat and tears to build it from a shell. we are looking at all details we can from the cops, will see how much they can help though.

best case scenario is its found in a empty lot or something rather than in a million parts on ebay. cheers

UPDATE: GOOD NEWS

hey guys, thanks for all the help.

sometime late friday night the police were involved in a high speed chase involving the torana. the chase was called off and fortunately it was found abandoned a couple hours later. we still dont have it back as cops are dusting it for prints and insurance is giving it the once over.

so far, so good. and hopefully it will back in my uncles hands in the next few days.

i guess we really are one of the lucky few to get it back and i feel the pain of all the other guys that get their pride and joy stolen.

thanks

haha actually already bought a lotto ticket already. its almost good to know that the little 186 could out run the cops for them to call the chase off. was built to bathurst specs though

i still really think we are one of the few lucky ones and really still feel bad for all the others that never get their pride and joy back

Good you got the car back. Cops don't call chases off due the car being too fast, they are told to call them off for public safety.

Good to hear it was found. Thats why i sold my hk monaro 2 years ago as i couldn't use it as a car anymore. My partner used to drive it to her work, go get the shopping, park in the city and outside cinemas, go to the beach. Never went to wintersun at Coolangatta but every year cars go missing. Shame cause the kids would have loved it.
