Have been lurking for a while but finally picked up an HK Monaro and will be looking at a complete rebuild over the next few years. There is no timeline and as the car is a runner, I will be enjoying it for a while before starting off. There will be a million questions for the brains trust here so I thought I should start with am introduction. Here it is:

Cheers

Lou

It is an early 80337 which was originally White over Goya Red. I really like that combo so will planning to go back to that. Eventually. The driveline is not original but I will not be looking for the original 161! The 307 will stay along with the Powerglide. So should come up just like yours except in white. Although I also really like the Silver Mink.

I see from your post that you are quite a ways ahead of me.

g'day hkm,i bought the car in 2011 & work on it as time allows, its been alot of blood, sweat,& tears so far but i wouldn't have it any other way.i have alway's loved the early monaro's and been a holden man since birth.when i was 19 i bought a bright blue metallic hk monaro gts for $900.oo and it served me well until it was written off,so i sold it to dave (holbusters) in thomastown vic.i alway's wanted another to restore but couldn't afford one until i bought this one 2 years ago.cheers Lou.the main thing to remember is to take your time, have a plan, and have a heap of cash ready (LOL) and plenty of patience.i'm lucky i can do the body work & paint myself.anyway enough rambling from me.cheers Lou.

Gday HKM

Nice car

One of my favourite Holden shapes, all the best with the rebuild.

Cheers
