I like it. It looks like a commodore, not too unlike the previous model in its overall shape and appearance. Be interesting to see what the bread & butter model looks like.

Sounds like it has everything my Mrs' RX350 has. Good to see. Hope they have put leaf springs and 2.3 tonne towing capacity on the Ute!

I was hoping for a pillard hardtop, get rid of them window frames.
I would like on the ute for the rear tailgate to be able to be drop down like the VZ did.

I like it too, but from some angles, it looks very similar to an Opel/ Vauxhall Insignia.
That is no bad thing, but the design cues and influence of other GM products are very obvious.

Good styling. In first image, wheels are a rip off from Ford G6E, 50 Anniversary model. Very little difference.

All they need to do is add a chassis, front diff and transfer case, make it a wagon or/and a twin cab ute and they will sell s*** loads of them to the mines and general public. Then they will become successful again.

I think it will be the same style as on the Volt, electric operation.

The electric park brake was available around 2007 and has been fitted to export chinese WM stato/caprice (called Park Avenue)
The extra cost wasnt warranted for our market.
The Park Avenue had heated and vibrating massage seats, heated washer water for freazing climates,A/cond-heater unit under the parcel shelf, etc etc.
Finally by this weekend i wont have to cover the VF every single break every single day for the last 15 months :-)

Hi, Mark. Yes the Buick Park Avenue, as sold on the Chinese market had a lot of kit, but was it built here & exported, or was it sent over CKD & then assembled in China, with lots of Chinese content ?

Looking forward to seeing the long wheelbase cars, always thought they looked better in the VE series.

Dr.Terry,i'm not 100% sure if they were CKD or not.I can easily find out.
Kept hearing of the floors being made of thicker metal than our WM for quieter N&V that china demanded.
The interior content was major and almost Limo spec.
They would turn up along with middle east spec Luminas and caprice ss and be crushed a few months later.
As for the new Caprice....we'll have to wait until Holden releases that info :-)

The 2005 buick / statesman was built here and ran a 2.8 V6 for china specs, it was later sent as CKD during the VZ series , I was working at HBD back then which was also involved with getting the cars ready for export.

I personally don't like it. It has to grow on me. To me on first glance looks a cross look alike of a Mazda 6 and Toyota Camry.
