Hi Guys,
Need some help on this one. I am looking at selling my HQ ute and a guy has asked to swap his 5 litre VP Commodore Opera House Edition build number 043.
I don't know much about these (actually never heard of them until today).
What is it based off? An SS or S Pac.
How many were made?
What extra gear if any?
Are they worth anything?
Anything else worth noting about them?
Appreciate the feedback on this one.

I have no record of GM-H building an Opera House Special version of the VP.
There was one in the VL series. Yours could be a dealer special using the genuine decal off the VL one.
It's most likely based on a V8 Executive or V8 Berlina, VP S packs (except utes) are only V6s.
Can you post the numbers off the body ID plate, that should tell the story.

It's want to be a pretty bad HQ ute to swap an old VP for it! |

Yeah I hear you HK, I don't like VP's but when it had a build number, it got me thinking.
Dr Terry, VIN Number is 6H8VPK19UNL573393.

That' the VIN, it just tells us that it is an Executive level V8 VP built between 1/9/91 & 30/8/92.
The info you need is on the body ID plate.

I've seen the odd one and through visual observation:
*White *Executive *5 litre auto *Electric front windows *Those Horrid VP SS wheels (quite possibly IRS) *Opera House dash badge with build number
I would be interesting to see what to Strut Sheet under the passenger's side carpet, whether it would say "V8 Executive" or something else. May also confirm whether it was 'Proper' Holden build or a dealer special.

A 124 pack is a 5.0 V8 Auto Executive.
As I mentioned earlier. I think that this might be a dealer thing not a factory thing.

Thanks Dr Terry.
So it sounds like nothing special then. I don't think I will do a deal.
I have requested for info off the strut sheet, but he hasn't got back to me yet.

Great pictures.
Only difference on this one to the one I am offered is the other one has a momo wheel.
What were they thinking with those wheels.
