During an engine bay respray by previous owner, id plate was lost. RTA said did not have to have it but I would replace it....any ideas?
Its a HR premier 186S body T bar auto.. also the block prefix is 186S but I don't think this can be correct.

The body ID plate is not required for rego, the authorities are only interested in engine number & chassis number.

You are correct, a 186S prefixed engine is not correct for HR, it belongs to an HK, HT or HG.

There is nothing unique about an HR 186S body.

HRs didn't get a T-bar auto from the factory either.'

thanx Dr Terry, Ive seen your posts and found them very good. As for the T bar auto in the HR, this is only the second one I have seen, the first 35years ago, I thought was a conversion but transmission mechanic said there were a few 2speeds T bars at the end. Any way of confirming this?

There was no factory T-bar until HK, full stop !!

It's most likely a conversion using HK/HT bits. I did several back in the 70s.

What type of console does it have. Can you post some pics.

in business same name till 1991 then several nsw owners after that,
so question now is to leave as is for daily drive,or chase original sale specs and revive her to past glory! Body no. HR6245S

I guess that the number you've posted was stamped into the firewall ? If so, this is the CHASSIS number, not the body number. Also there should be a 2nd 'S' at the end of the number, probably past the ridge in the firewall pressing. The BODY number is stamped on the body ID plate along with the model number.

If this is the case, 6245 is a fairly early number, probably being built in the first half of 1966, meaning that it did not have a 186S engine when it left the factory door.
