I have mate who has had a FJ Ute for years. It currently has a standard grey. He wants to convert to a V8. He is only looking for a streeter. I want advice on most ecomomical conversion. I imagine 308 auto would be simplest. What mounts are needed? Front brakes? Diff?
He is in NT and not on internet, so I said i would look into it for him. Thought I might get some good advice here. Thanks

From what i have heard a V6 conversion is a lot easier. a guy that used to be in our club has an FJ ute with a carbied buick V6 ,I cannot remember what box but it was auto and had a ford 9 inch diff ,it was quite fast and reliable.it had torana rack and pinion steering with disc brakes.

I'd talk to Pat Gardiner in Moree and CRS in Victoria.
