Yep it is a sad day.

I'm a Ford Guy who also loves Holdens.

Couple more years and I'll be buying Holdens as I refuse to buy a car from an importing scab that does little for Australia's economy.

So there you have it I will no longer be a "closet Holden guy"

Long live the Commodore. Ford Dearborn STICK IT UP YOUR WAZOOO!!!

Cheers,

Only way to stop it happening is for either the Aussie dollar to plummet in value suddenly making imports very expensive (remember what happened to the VL?) or for the government to place some realistic import duty on foregn cars say 20-30%.

Unortunately Holden has just lost some of the incentive to continue building and improving the Commodore. At least they have a reasonable export programme for the Commodore.

Australia is finished and we will become the white trash of Asia.

We need an even playing field with all that imported stuff. Hard to compete when there are virtually no tarrifs and the other companies are paying dirt money to their workers. The Aussie government needs to get off its ass and do something. But they are just full of talk. Bad management and marketing from ford hasnt helped. It's a very sad day for everyone in this country. it paints a very gloomy picture for Australias future.
