I just want to know who is the best place to find out about the history of my monaro like previous owners when it was first registered, I know you could go through the RTA at one point but I dont think they keep the records going back to the early 70s anymore I may be wrong.
So if there is another way to find out I would appreciate any help as I do want to know the history of it.

Regards Tony.

They won`t reveal previous owners due to the privacy act.they may tell you if its been reg interstate or if it was originally a 6 cyl but thats about it.

I knew a guy that worked for the rta, and he was trying to find info on his car. He told me it was a waste of time, when the rta went from paper to computers in approx 1994 they were suppose to convert all the info across.i have tried to find info on my Monaro knowing the history back to three years from new, you can find what dealer ordered the car and with mine being a small country town I sent info to the local paper for a " find my original owner story" but I got no bites so that's it for my hunt, try muscle assist in australian muscle cars , they have had some good finds etc. cheers
