Hi All

Just to let you know that my latest book is now at the printer and should be in around late October early November. Called Holdens Black Book 1948 - 2006, it covers all the numbering systems used by GM-H from the first Holden, the 48 215, through to VZ commodore, plus Torana, Gemini and Camira. The numbering systems covered are:
Chassis numbers
Tag number
Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
ISOVIN
Engine numbers, prefixes and sequence numbers

Plus a full interpretation of the compliance and Body Identification plates. The Body Identification Plate interpretation includes examples of plates from each plant for each model (over 180 plates) plus all trim codes for each model series and a list of all known paint codes from 1948 - 2006.

If you would like a copy they are now on sale at http://jadlawpublishing.com.au/ for $89.95. The first 215 are numbered and will go on a first come first serve basis. (215 to commemorate the 48 - 215)

To standardize postage I have decided to use post pack and can send up to 3 books for the $15.

Warren

Does it disclose what the D means on HR ID plates?
Just think how stupid the average person is, and then realise that half of them are even stupider!

Printer still has not delivered to me and have not given me a date. Delivery was 3 - 6 weeks and it has been 12.

My guess is as good as yours.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Not a problem Warren, As cloudy said, hanging out to read it. Besides that you didn't say which xmas we would get it by.

Nevertheless! to all fastlaners, seasons greetings..

Hi Warren,
book arrived today.....fantastic, just in time for some holiday reading. After checking ou the third gen monaro sections I have a few questions for you. Was the GU6 axle used on any V2 coupes? (page 255), page 256 shows a V2 series III plate instead of a series II? and on page 258 the model extension for a CV8R auto is 053 (should be 054?) and the 3YY smart pack should be R8Y? (as used on HSV GTO series III LE's). Thanks for bringing out the book, now its time to expand my knowledge on the rest of the Holden range!
cheers Marty

I shall check the GU6.

the tag on 256 shows the new ISOVIN, and the tag on 257 shows the removal of the smart pack part way through series III, so the tag on 256 is for series II and early series III.

Thanks for the 054, not sure how that happened.

I have R8Y on page 262 it comes up as HSV Avalanch sales item.
