For a 76 HX GTS with 308 and M21 box, the parts book shows the propshaft as white.
Does this mean the whole shaft and yokes should be white or should it be black with a white flash for recognition on the production line?
All the model cars I've seen have an all white shaft and yokes.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks Castellan, so where do the colour codes listed in the parts book come into play?
There are many colours listed like dark blue, orange, grey, red, dark green and even pink!!
Black is listed in the parts book for a 6cyl with banjo axle for the sedans.

The one that came off the car is black, I just wondered if it should have a colour splash on it as it has probably been painted in the past.

Whole shaft is white, as is the yoke. It isn't a you-beaut paint job, just a spray of paint with half the yoke painted just like the engines were (with overspray everywhere and bits missed).

Why would it be painted white. a HX there is no diffrence in the shalft at all. be it a 253 or 308 manual.
The only colour is to ID the shalft and it looks like it's done with a paint brush as a sweep across a whole lot of them when they were made. not like with the older cars that had the whole shalft painted.
Maybe it's where the car was made some are and some are not. i am sure QLD made is not.
