Hi Everyone...

Have been a Reader for a long time... Awesome site...
Currently restoring a 350M HT Monaro.. on road but with slight 70's mods...
Can any one give me the correct codes for a 350M Rochester for the manual, one I have is list # 29283 and code 0719, currently being rebulit..
Also chasing the correct Intake Manifold cast numbers to suit a 350M... HT

If anyone has any leads on sourcing the correct Intake manifold, Correct Air cleaner assembly and original heads tappet covers would be greatly appreciated... these items were removed during the early 70's and have Gone.... Sigh..... Would love to finnish the HT as a concourse resto....

Keep up the great work, n so glad to have finally joined.... regards mrbht

Carb will depend upon the car ie when it was built. You have the right carby code ie 29283 or 7029283 but which it had originally and what the original build date code was will depend upon the car's build timeframe. I think the carbs missing the 70 may be an outsourced build ie the GM Rochester division outsourced production to Carter. Not 100% on this though.

For a 29283 carb the 0719 build date is a new one to me, i've only ever seen 29283 and 29284 carbs with 1 x specific build date but i've only ever seen a few as they are so rare.

Thanks Tonyl66,... found the thread... mine is a 29283 ZC and 0719 forgot the ZC.. Hoping its the right one... came with the car originally boxed up... needing a rebuild...

Cocko750... That would be great checking out the cast numbers on that manifold, need to track one down for the 350 thats correct..

Thanks HK1837, for the info on the carb, have had a hard time trying to collect the info on a correct Rochester for a 350M, any info helps...

Thanks everyone for taking the time to read and reply.... appreciated...

What is the car? Pagewood, Elizabeth etc? If the carby is original it'll be pretty early.
If you want you could PM me the car's details and i'll find out for you if the carb could possibly be the original. Note that ZC is the correct code.

Hi Everybody...

Just wondering if someone can, help me, and confirm if an Intake manifold I have found... could be used for a genuine HT 350M....

Cast / List # 3927184 Date coded B12-9 it also has an "R" stamped on it.. Sort of worked out the R stands for the 300HP Manual Intake.... Would this suit the 350M... ?

and...

Did any of the HT 350's ever have a Quadrajet list # 7027213 DZ used in production ex Acacia Ridge in 1969 ???? I see in past discussions, it is for the 327M Series 1 and on early Series 2.. Could it be possible they used it on a early HT 350 ????.

Thanks in advance for any info, it's greatly appreciated... Cheers BHT...

That is the right manifold number, but it is also suitable for a second type HK GTS327. Check the cast date vs the block and heads cast date. Has the manifold got a K or a T on it on one of the runners? Late HK engines are McKinnon (K) and HT GTS350M are Tonnawanda (T), but I can't remember with 100% certainty that the manifolds were cast at each plant or not.

That carby is an early type HK GTS327. Late HK GTS327 had the same carby number as yours but I think misssing the ZC. The very first HT GTS350 (#1 from Pagewood) had the same carby as yours but missing the ZC. I found one of these recently at a swap meet, gone to a good home though!

Thanks heaps for that Cocko750 and HK1837,

A friend managed to track it down, refurbished etc, the manifold has a "T" stamped on it too, like yours Cocko750...
Matches up pretty closely to the carb, the block, etc with date coding.
And.... Wow,.... not wrong about the weight, it's roughly 18kg....

The bloke has a complete 327, sag, out of a GTS rolled in the early 70's... he grabbed the running gear.. and, sigh,.. definitely wont depart with it....., bet some-one would love that to finnish off a HK resto..
Crossing fingers and just hoping he will let some of his other HT - HG pieces, I'm chasing and he's collected go..

Thanks for sharing your wisdom HK1837 and Cocko750, greatly appreciated.. and really helping me out, trying to get everything back to or as close as possible to period correct..

Cheers BHT
