My drivers side electric window stopped working, I have a spare quad switch so tried that and still the same, I have removed the motor, now to check the motor would I just hook to the battery and get the current thought or would it have to be earthed also, I have pulled apart to check the inside bushes etc and all looks ok, sorry but I'm not electrically minded. Cheers

The two wires are positive up and positive down and the body is the negative return.
