Hi guys, although I saw this posted on another forum it is of relevance to me and probably many others, - has anyone stopped the problem of fuel slosh, coming out the filler, even at 1/2 a tank, we get fuel stains on the 1/4 panel. I've heard that there was a piece of metal welded into to the filler pipe from factory to prevent this but this was poorly done and often falls away. Is that true? Any ideas. Im about to get the HT repainted but it would be a waste if I cant get this issue sorted out. Oh, by the way, Yes I've tried doing new Gaskets etc. Works for a while, not a permanent fix. Ive also tried inner tube as a gasket, (modern petrol warps the rubber). Yes, ive also blown out the breather tube.
thanks Alby

I don't know about baffles in the filler neck, but I do know the locking caps all seem to leak, and the standard non locking caps don't.

Yes , non locking ones work to a degree, you have to double the gasket and That makes it hard to close properly which in turn looks ugly. If it's too tight , you end up rubbing the gasket too much, roughing it up too much? any other ideas?

I always had problems with 25 gallon HT tank when doing circuit racing. What worked for me was: 1/ more than 1/4 tank. (Not practical for normal use obviously) 2/ Genuine non locking cap. 3/ Clean up the dents and dings in the filler neck sealing surface, and make its flat. 4/ As insurance, fit a spill tray.
Also search Fastlane for "HT fuel splash" There are some additional clues in an old thread.
