I found a hg wreck during the week, it had some monaro stuff in it and was curious about it, it had monaro buckets, full length console, gts dash, blank column, matching rear seat, factory floor shift, 186s engine with all factory style throttle linkages and a black vinyl roof. Heres the id tags

The trans looked unusual to me too, with engine out you could see the bellhousing had a very thick edge, single ribs running down bellhousing, transmission plate was red, it read F gmh P then under it Cal A then beside it serial number d876220
Any one help with this one?

Was it an auto or manual (codes sound like a trimatic)? The only boxes you could option on a 6cyl HG Kingswood sedan were M20 4spd and M40 auto. M20 was standard with console shift if A50 (fixed back) or XS6 (adjustable) bucket seats specified, M40 was mandatory with console shift with A50/XS6 if D55 seat separator not specified. D55 specified got you column hift with buckets.
Just sounds like an optioned HG 6cyl Kingswood sedan. They'll be Kingswood buckets not Monaro if they are original. Sounds a lot like a HT Kingswood I pulled some bits off at a wreckers once. |
