Any suggestions for refitting the seal around the filter on on a 460LE auto? Giving the auto a serice and I thought I'd replace it,since the new filter kit has seal provided. An absolute **** of an idea, the way it's positioned.
Help, please before I butcher it!

Just asked my trans guy, His response: Need a slide hammer and a 3 prong puller to get it out without damage, if it's still soft I leave em be.

to remove I use a hammer and screw driver to punch the outer of the seal in then you can pry it out, but yes you have to be careful doing this, to fit the new seal into the valve body I use a socket that fits the outside metal part of the seal and knock it in. pete.

Thanks guys. Ended up borrowing the sockets from the mechanic next to us at work.
All good now. After some cursing! |
