Small tag, half way along:
H1 Brisbane
H5 Sydney
J1 Melbourne
L1 Adelaide

Large tag, on model line, at the end

A for Adelaide (A is also on Brisbane automatic cars, after the model number)
B for Brisbane
M for Melbourne
H5 for Sydney

The chassis number on the firewall will help you if the tags can't help by Warren's info above. The chassis number will be HKxxxxxYZ. The Y tells you what body plant constructed the body and the Z is which assembly plant put the car together. Normally Monaro will be the same eg HK24567SS ie Sydney (Pagewood) body and Sydney assembly or HK24567BB for Acacia Ridge (Brisbane) body and assembly. But sometimes there are anomalies like AS for Elizabeth (Adeliade) body and Pagewood (Sydney) assembly. These cars will have an Elizabeth (Adelaide) BODY tag (colour/trim tag) and a Pagewood (Sydney) small tag.

The second letter is normally below the first ie S over S but not in every case.

You can't unless it has an Acacia Ridge body or if it is a GTS327 which were all manual.
