I have seen this HR 186S 4 speed on Carsales http://www.carsales.com.au/priv...D-3091985/?Cr=24&sdmvc=1I have searched old posts on this forum, and cannot find any information that verifies his claims. Plus the fact he is the 4th owner, as he explains 2 previous owners were in NSW and the last owner was QLD. So with no documentation, records or close history, is it a rare car? Oh and No rust at all by the way. I am sure that iron rusts, so it is going to be under there for sure. This is not a sales assassination, it is a nice looking car. I am just interested in the info that anyone can shed light on. |

Wow.
I can't help with 'Is it real?' or 'What is it worth?'. I can say it is a magnificent vehicle.

Agreed David, Beautiful! I hope to hell IT IS everything he says it is! Ive never seen anything like it
Question though (not a criticism because I don't know) were the 186s air cleaners gold on the HR? or is that on other models??
Good luck to the seller Al

Unfortunately you cannot pick a Pagewood build HR as a 186S from the body plate, if it was a Melbourne body you could. I'd be a bit worried though buy the owners comments, he is putting 2 and 2 together and getting 12, the comment about the 7 after the 1 he is talking about the INSRT code used on Melbourne bodies for 186S 4spd HR's. He is looking at the paint refinish code I guess (1702). Not saying the car isn't what he claims, but just that sort of BS worries me. |

The air cleaner is correct in silver for HR albyht. HK/TG had gold. Reasonably sure this HR car was owned by a Sydney CHACA car club member around 20yrs ago when I was a member. Was a 186S 4 speed back then. Sure ticks all the boxes as far as I can tell, despite having the choke, thought the choke script is missing which is correct. I had the same spec HR at the time but with all correct documentation. Shame this one hasn't got that, as it would make a potential purchaser more at ease. The trim defiantly isn't original GMH though. As an aside, the way he has written the add is a good example of how NOT to word a add. Sound like someone who would be a pain in the arse to deal with. Sometimes....buyers in general are simply a pain rectum. How many sellers have experiences the usual..."Whats your best price" or "I can get one for XYZ"...most of the times these so-called opportunistics don't even use proper English is their messages.
