I had one and I can tell you I'm spewing now!
It was a black efi and factory I'd plated 5 speed.
It was metallic green with blue green interior and it was an SL and around an 85 model.
I don't want to get into the post bashing either Dr Terry, I know your a wealth of knowledge but I'm telling you I bought a factory VK SL Black motor efi with 5 speed manual and it was a one owner car from Frankston and that was in around 1993.
As I said, I payed 6500 for it back then and the thing was quick and sounded like an 8.
I'm still looking for the RWC and Rego papers, I've got them for every car I've owned so they will turn up.
If the car was a proto or special I'm devastated now! :-(

I sold it to a guy in country Vic around 1994 for about 7 or 7500
It's probably long gone now. Damn it!

I think the only way a VK 6-cyl could be plated M76, is if it had the L14 motor (carby/EST), from factory.

Having worked on a lot of VKs, I think it would be easier to convert an L14/M76 to EFI, than it would to convert an LL9/M40 to manual.

Dr Terry
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

Don't know DR TERRY,
All I can tell you is what I owned and what it was plated as.
The reason I know and remember it is because it was my first commodore and I did my homework on it before I bought it. I made sure the engine and box combo matched the tags like I've always done with my cars. It's just something I always do, i check the tags.
Cheers.
