Hi all,

I'm hoping I can get help with a couple of cars.

1. HD Wagon
Body HD229 9074 S
Trim 576 E23 I know 576 relates to paint, Fowlers Ivory, but can't find out what E23 is maybe Garnet Red?
Paint 585 5084 Fowlers Ivory

2. HG windowless Panel Van, numbers indicate Built in Adelaide, Assembled in Melbourne?

Body 3236 A - Adelaide
Trim 1820 14A - Twilight Blue Bench
Paint 568 13133 - Frost Blue (HQ colour, late build date 6/71)
Chassis HG24347A - does this indicate Adelaide too?
VIN has J2 which indicates Melbourne

I have heard that some commercials bodies were built in Adelaide then railed to Sydney or Melbourne for assembly, is this the case for a HG.

Cheers Ann.

All vans and tonners that were assembled in Pagewood or Dandenong were Elizabeth bodies, except for about 12 months in HQ where Pagewood did their own bodies.
The reason HT-HG have an Elizabeth ADR plate for Dandenong assembled vehicles is because the chassis number went on in the body plant, so they got an ADR plate too. HQ-HZ are different as tje chassis number went on in the assembly plant.

Yes, for HD the numbers 576 & 585-5084 relate to Fowlers Ivory paint all over.

E23 is for Mephisto & Garnet Red vinyl in a HD229 Special wagon.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0
