Hey y'all.
I have vxv6 in 97 ford transit.
Despite going over fuel line with fine toothed comb, I can find nought, zero, wrong with it.
And yet, on occasion, I can smell petrol. My Econ rate is terrible as well.
Although it is hard to know that? Cause of biggerer car, and carrying around all my old love letters, and momentous,s. ( bucket loads of weight).
Q. Is vx v6 known for probs with fuel leaks? Eg, injectors, etc,
Just wondering.
Thanks already
Bcb

Thanks mmazz30.
I did that already. Fuel line appears to be fine and dandy. I thought maybe injectors? Can they leak?
Will keep lookin.
Cheers

Injectors can leak internally, signs are blowing smoke on start up or when cranking you get a kind of "locking up" if it fills a cylinder up.
VT's and VX's had issues with fuel smells coming into the cabin...anything from firewall to even the holes in the B pillars letting fumes in.
My VT had fuel smells whenever I reversed into a parking spot.
I checked the hose going into the fuel rail,it looked dry and ok but I could turn the hose on the rail fitting really easy with the factory crimped clamp. When I turned it,the hose became wet at the join.
So maybe when I reversed, the engine would rock enough to disturb the fuel hose/joint.
I put a hose clamp on it and never got the smell in the cabin anymore.

First of, in a minute, after I write this reply, I will google what a canon canister is!
But first let me say thankyou for your replies and in depth thoughfull anaylisis, of the problem at hand, and warm welcome back! Sort of chokes a basketcase up a tadd, had to look for the cleanex
I did not do the conversion on le transit, but it does have an engineers cert.
