Hello all, drove from Geraldton to Perth in the VE last week and as I pulled into the airport car park the engine started running rough and the 'check engine' light came on, I found a park, shut it down and tried restarting but it still ran rough and the 'stability control' warning light cam on. I'm now in Melbourne and due to fly back on the weekend, hoping to jump in the car and drive back to G'ton. Any ideas on what the problem is? Car had been serviced that week (60,000km) and ran fine until the fault
Thanks

Got back to Perth Saturday evening hoping the car would go, I didnt really have a plan B anyway. It started and idled fine but the check engine message cam up as soon as I put it in gear and remained on all the way home, (the car ran fine). Then I was running around yesterday and the light went out and all appears good!
Bad things happen in threes? I lost low beam in the Monaro last week (probably the dip switch I think), the VE fault light as above, and yesterday I got a long brake pedal in the Brougham, looks like the master cylinder is bypassing as I have not lost any fluid.

How long have you had the VE? Reason I ask, is that I have had 2 (V6 Omega company hack, and a V8 Calais V we still own).
Both played up with various warning lights in the weeks leading up to battery failure.
They are extremely sensitive to voltage drop.

It may be an early omen for you to change the battery before it lets you down.
Cheers,

Mick
