Hi,
Just wondering if someone could tell me what the pictured hose is for? Is it related to brake vacuum?
It appears to be in vacuum. The end that attaches to the intake manifold perished and needs to be replaced. The engine idles rough when it's diconnected.

Cheers
Mick

Hi, Mojo that line/valve is the purge valve, when the car is cruising along the ecu opens the valve, sometimes on a duty cycle percentage, to draw in fumes from the petrol tank, this is to stop the fumes escaping into the atmosphere, the petrol cap has a valve in it that lets fresh air into the tank, most of these systems have the fuel tank level feed into the ecu, so It knows not to open the valve when the tank is full so not to draw in raw fuel into the manifold, also injector pulse width can be adjusted to suit when the valve is open.
