Hi
I have converted my 77 HZ from an automatic to a manual. I have put in an M21 aussie four speed. It is cable tyre set up. My problem is that I cant select 1st and 3rd gear.
I had this problem sometime ago and I solved it my adjusting the nut on the cable that is near the part of the fork that comes out of the gear box.
I now have the same problem back again and I have tried to solve the problem by adjusting the same nut as before but with now joy.
Is there another problem with my gear box. Up until this happened the box worked smoothly with no troubles.
Could the cable have stretched?
Should I go to a mechanical set and if so how difficult is it to put in?
Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks

Andy

What pedal did you use? You may have used a WB 6cyl pedal and these don't give enough cable pull as the clutch wears.

Also how did you setup the height of the clutch fork pivot ball?

Have you got the right throwout bearing?

Hi KH1837
When I converted from auto to manual I purchased a HZ V8 clutch and brake pedal set up
The height of the clutch fork pivot ball was pre-set by Dellow when I purchased the bell housing
The throw out bearing was purchased from Repco so hopefull it was the right one
Hope this helps

How far off the floor does the pedal travel before the clutch engages?

If it's first and third gear you have difficulty selecting, but not second and fourth you may have an issue with the shifter position or the linkage adjustments.
