Hi Gents,
Husband of my work mate is about to sell a HJ GTS. Wondering what it might be worth. She was a bit scant on details but described the car as follows:
Straight, no rust, complete, original radio, needs a respray and reupholster. V8, probably not original motor or gearbox. Started with new battery after sitting for a couple of years.
They thought it might be worth $5000. someone offered $7500 unseen. I thought it might be much more - don't want them to lose out.
How much?

It has a 253 motor. It is not the original motor, but did these come with a 253? It is unlikely that a previous owner down-sized, so does this mean it is probably not a GTS?
4 doors.

Yes, GTS had 253 V8 standard & 308 optional, so that's OK.
A 253 4-door Monaro GTS @ $5,000-$7,500 would still be a good buy, I would think.
