Good Afternoon all!
HQ MONARO SIDE GLASS TESTER NEEDED!

Here at VehGlass we've been trying something special behind the scenes... we know it can be hard to get quality products made in Australia to suit all the old Holdens, so we're constantly taking in everybody's feedback to ensure customer satisfaction.

Neal is essential to our team here. We couldn't supply anybody new glass for their cars without him. And now.. he's been tinkering in his shed and has created a passenger door glass to suit a HQ Monaro. Currently, there is no manufacturer available in Australia who can do this.

Our only issue now is..we don't actually HAVE a HQ Monaro to test it in!! We only have gauge testing equipment to see if the radius is correct. But that's simply not good enough, we need an actual car.

Is there ANYBODY in the Melbourne (preferably Nothern suburbs) who would like to try installing this piece for us? You will receive the door glass at no cost, and, if that glass fits, you may keep it for free! If you know anybody who suits our needs right now please let us know!

Send us your details to [email protected] with a picture of your car (please no tricksters we only have ONE piece) location and daytime telephone number and we can get back to you ASAP!

Attached are some pictures of the trial glass with our DOT601 logo. Made fresh today in Campbellfield, Victoria.

Thank you all, Jennifer

guys, we need to get behind these type of companies here in Australia. I for one have used vehglass many many times even when it was a small company in Thomastown in the late 90's, and the quality is exceptional and still is, in fact I am about to get some glass for my xy of them in the very near future.
those restoring any car will know just how hard it is to get good glass, and even good front windscreens is an issue for late model cars these days, its just all crap the delamination on it and the wobbles on a glass is just shocking, how it get approved, I will never know.
my bro in law's HQ coupe has rares glass in it on the sides, and its horrid, back in the days of fitting it, even bob pyz came over to help and even he couldn't get it right, it was rectified yes, but we need good aussie made quality parts.
Jennifer, I will email you a contact I have closer to you than anyone I know that will be able to help, falling that I will use one of my own cars to help, but I am 2 hrs away and time is hard
keep up the good work in making glass for our cars!!

The glass previously was made in Thomastown by V Glass and it was found that there was a difference between VIC assembled cars and SA assembled cars by 10MM, so they made a product that was in between. It is possible that your in laws car had V Glass. Following your original complaint that was when it was found there was a variance. The Monaro club visited Bob to see the fitment issues at the time. Rare Spares supported this local manufacturer, but dropped the product after all the fitment and supply issues. Hopefully the new glass will fit the correct vehicles.

i think you could be thinking about the wrong car/scenario. never once has i or anyone else in my family ever been affiliated with the monaro club of victoria, or never will be, as 3/4 of them would not know the difference between a holden coupe and a falcon coupe.
glad to hear of your company supporting local products at the time

I have seen problems with wobbles inside the glass strip, I think it's the plastic in the centre of it that has gone wrong. shoddy quality control. I had one that would make you sea sick.

That is a hard one to fathom Greg as all HQ coupes were Pagewood or Dandenong build and assembly and all HJ-HX at Pagewood. All the W size coupe glass was produced for them in one location as far as i'm aware, although i'd not be surprised if for high volume glass there was local manufacturing close to the assembly plants. All the panels were pressed in Woodville. So they shouldn't show that much variation for coupes. An interesting bit of info though.
