What do you mean, as an option in the XC or a ability to do such a thing.
I know there are ratios, I think the XY GT-HO had manual not P/S I don't know if it can be converted to P/S.
I know that the XG Longreach has a much better P/S steering feel, than the hopeless P/S rubbish that they had before that.

The XW/XY GT's had the 16:1 power steering type box fitted without the hydraulic assisted ram of the power steering models.

The standard was 20:1 and those 16:1 boxes are highly sought after.

XW/XY steering boxes mount differently to later boxes but I don't know whether the change was XA or XD but I think XA.

So as far as I know the only way to get faster (16:1) steering in an XC is to fit power steering or look at adapting a non power steer rack or box from another car.
