I've just had repaired my fuel gauge.It now works.However since disturbing the instrument panel wiring,I now have a problem.The indicators flash at normal speed till I add accessories.They now are slower.I turn on the parkers then the headlights and then I find the fuel gauge needle flickers a little to the rhythm of the indicators.Where do I start?

I concur - definitely sounds like a grounding issue causing backfeed through something else, which is not unusual in older cars. You'll need to re-trace your work and check all earth connections, both hard-wired ones and those where the ground is made by a body of a given item physically touching the body of the car.
Dual filament indicator light sockets are the best example (and common culprits in this sort of behavior). If you think of a dual filament bulb - one filament for the indicator, one for the parking light. There are two supply wires coming in, but the return ground path for both filaments is made via the casing of the bulb socket. As dirt and such builds up, when you insert the bulb into the socket, or the socket into the indicator housing (through which it grounds to the body of the car), the connection can be poor. If so, and you operate your indicator, as there is no ground, it back-feeds through the parking-light filament of the bulb, along that wire to the other parking light, then makes the ground via the OTHER socket (or back through your dash indicators, etc - all sorts of funky stuff starts happening).
It's been a long time since I've owned a HT, but is there a common "earth plane" on the back of the instrument cluster? If so, make sure it's connected to the chassis of the car through either a wire or whatever method it's supposed to be (i.e., if through mounting screws, make sure they're all clean, etc).

It might seem obvious, but is the engine running when this behaviour occurs? It could just be voltage drop from a battery with high internal impedance. HKTG has no voltage regulator for the instrument cluster. Failing that, an earth problem is possible. There are several earths on the HKTG cluster - 2 x 1/4"push on connectors on the rear of the instrument cluster, and a flying lead with a ring lug that goes under a screw in the lower section of the dash, usually the one that fixes the fuse holder block.. The engine doesn't need to be running.I will take heed of your suggestions and as soon as I can get to it,I will see what I can find.Thanks
