Hey guys bit a general question,
In the market for some air tools and can't find any advice online about brands. I don't need top of the range but I don't want to buy cheap crap either. Just looking for thoughts/advice? Prob usual tools - disc sander, rattle gun etc

Probably the most important thing is a good water trap. It doesn't matter what you buy if they get gummed up with wet oily air.
Things like die grinders need lots of air.
Air tools are great though. I have a air ratchet. Just unreal for undoing that are hard to reach.

Ok cool thanks. I got a 3 piston cast iron BOSS 17CFM compressor with 100L tank. It was the biggest I could run on single phase 15A plug so I would be able to use alot of air tools and not run out. Its just so I get an idea of what tools if any I should avoid and if anyone had good and bad experiences with them.

For tools that rattle themselves apart, I have gone for quality Japanese made. Air hacksaw, belt sander, and disc sander are Shinano made in Japan. For less important simpler tools like die grinder, drill, hole punch, blade cutoff I have gone for TRAX made in Taiwan
As a panel beater, the first three are tools I use more often, so quality is very important.

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated. Peter, Shinano's seem pretty good, not too bad price wise. Especially being a panel beater, they would be well used. I've heard Ingersoll Rand as a reputable brand like Snap On tools but like Snap On they seem pretty pricey.

I use trax air tools and find them ok for the price

I also have iron air tools, They seem ok too, haven't killed 1 yet!

If your going to need a reliable air tool that gets used often the cheap ones won't last, snap on do nice tools, Ingasoll Rand are nice too! worth the high prices if there getting used a lot!!

As with anything, you get what you pay for!
