Ok so hk holden rocket red is the colour of a hk 307. Paint code 10890. Kbs paint systems offer a holden rocket red in their range and i was wondering if anyone new if the colour was correct. I just thought it may be a longer lasting paint then an ordinary engine enamel

So is hk holden rocket red correct or chevy orange? Hearing conflicting information

HK holden 6 cyl is Holden rocket red.
The 307 and 327 is not.

Except for late HQ 350 which change back to the same as other HQ engines. And 186S in HK-HG is the same paint as the Chev engines.

Nope. As per the above advice, all the Chevs in HK to HG inclusive are 8929, known in the Dulux Colour chart as "Holden X2 Engine Red"

For what it's worth now, with lead free paint, the original Dulux tinter settings are:
