Hi guys,i have just brought a dizzy from the wreckers for my xc 302C. My mate says that the vacuum advance is not working. He said this after trying to suck on the vacuum advance pipe and seeing no movement. Is this a good test? How else can you tell if its working.
Thanks.

ok,instead of sucking the pipe, stick your finger on the pipe and pull the shaft out, then with it out try and remove your finger,if its working you'll know because your finger will be stuck there and you will here a vacuum sound.

You really need a mityvac testing pump to test vacuum faults. A poor mans method is to get some rubber tube that fits tightly over the vacuum advance unit connector. it should be long enough to be able to suck on it. (no joke) Watch the internals to view
