Hi guys,


My drivers window just packed it in


are there any common faults or causes I should look for or is it likely that the motor has blown?


If so, are there any aftermarket motors? or do i have to hunt for genuines?


Any/all help is appreciated!

Couple of faults to look for:
1) plastic gear in motor has three "triangle" bits on the inside of it which strip out, in this case the motor will still work but the window wont go up, probably make a thud thus thus sound. can get a new gear fr

The operation was jerky and intermittent for a while before it packed it in


any tips to pulling the regulator assembly out?

I think I have that "binding problem". Both front motors work fine when run from a battery charger (faster then a new BA!). They also work very well with the motor (car engine)going. But when I try to work them with the motor off, they work for

i got a ZL fairlane too that has bad electric windows, i know that on the ZLs, you can just put ball bearings into the gears-where they have been stripped out, and then the windows work pefectly again.
