have small prob with car, it wont start, it started yesturday after i changed the oil n stuff, and it ran fine. today when i go to move it, i tried to start it and it wouldnt do anything. the speedo swung from 0 to about 80 while i was tryna start it too.

Car is 3spd auto, 4.1L efi.

im thinkingits the battery and the starter motor that has gone-which is easy fix, but i am unsure as to why the speedo would move when im starting it...?

any ideas?
thx in advance

Yep its fine, it hasnt come off either the head or the battery, n there is no corrosion around the terminal on the battery either.....

Assuming that you have already checked the basic stuff like fuses and fusible links. Put a multimeter on the starter and see if it is getting any current. Trying a different battery might not be a bad idea in case youve dropped a cell, you can still have

i got the car to start, battery is screwed-its happily bubbling away as the motor runs...

when i started it, it didnt try to swing the speedo around to 80+kphr, which i thought was werid. still it started so i am happy about that.
