i've just picked up a XB/XC coupe from a wreckers with no id plates at all. i want to find out what the car is, when it was built, paint code, the hole lot. plus i wanted to know if i can find out if the car had been stolen, just in case. i have a cassie no. but thats all can any body help me out.

Go to http://www.fomoco.com.au/ID.html for help on ID from chassis number. Ford customer service keep records also

if someone has rego'd a car with these numbers its illegal.don't matter if they have bought the tags from anyone,the tags never leave the vehicle.

Like Bill says, go to FOMCO and that should give you a lot of info.
You won't get paint and trim options but you will get model, build date.
Unless the car is a cobra or a JG66 on the compliance plate you're going to have a hard time getting any info ou
