I have a HQ ute with floor shift and keep skinning my knuckles on the dash when going for first gear. I have a full HJ Stato dash including subframe, is it possible to do a straight HJ Stato for HQ ute dash change? Any tips appreciated. Thanks for responses to my previous queries...

it can be done but is a big job as the metal panel behind the dash and crash pad are different to hj , you would have to cut out the hq panel and weld in the hj one.
might be easier to change the shifter!

I done this about 8 years ago to a HQ van....it`s not hard as long as your handy with a grinder and welder.....but it`s also something that i wouldn`t bother doing again!!!

hey buddy just passing by, yeah i rekon if you cut out the HQ subframe and weld the statey one in, it would definately fit. i'm not sure about the guages though, but surely you could make it work.
