Hi Guys,

I have a HK with HQ brakes on the front. But I have a HK 10 bolt diff in the back. It is a huge pain in the bum to carry 2 spare wheels all the time. Due to the rareity of the 10 bolt, I dont really want to change the diff stud pattern. IS it possible to have the HQ disk rotors redrilled to suit the HK pattern?? My disks needs replacing anyways as they are undersized, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to change the pattern as well. What are your thoughts?? Anyone done this before???

cheers

Not easy to do. Have a look inside the HQ disc where the wheel studs go through and you'll see why. The 4.75 inch PCD HQ stud pattern when redrilled to 4.25 inch HK leaves the wheel studs in the boss/bearing section of the disc. You may however be able to

You can get new HQ discs with no stud holes in them (blanks). I think you can get them through PBR. Hoppers Stoppers does a lot of brake conversions and could give you advice if not supply the disks. A Google search should find websites for these compani

Not 100% sure. I believe the wheel bearing are the same. Someone out there will know for sure. It's just a suggestion, as they may be easier to change the pattern on. As I said, look inside the HQ ones and you'll see what I mean.

I've done it on my HK monaro, well I should say the guy I got the car from had done it. HQ discs with HK stud pattern. I've had no problems so far, but check with Hoppers Stoppers they give you the best advice.
