And while I'm at it, but on a new thread...
Someone has told me recently that using dash sprays such as the popular Armour All may actually be bad (long term) for our dashes. Supposedly the oils get into the dash and encourage cracking?
What's the real story? Good, bad, or indifferent?
Jason.

Quite possibly, however it's also bad for us as it releases toxic chemicals when heated up. I use leather dressing (used on saddles. bridles etc)available from places like Horseland. It's easy to apply, looks fantastic and softens the dash so it's just

ON a black dash - maybe try Shoe polish - sparingly. It will smell odd, but it will put oils in. Maybe ? My old(20yrs back) RA40 celica, got the boot polish treatment to its front & rear bumpers. They came up a treat. KIWI PARADE GLOSS was best. FWI

armour all has alcohol in it, it will actually dry out the plastisizers that are in dashes and such plastic parts and so crack them, its happened to me, use baby oil, smells great and if your hands get dry just rub the dash!

Many years ago I put a generous layer of Armorall on the black dash of my LC Torana. At that time the dash was about ten years old and had no cracks. After one or two days cracks appeared everywhere. I have no doubt it was the Armorall. I think my mista

I had a bottle of Armour all once. Left it sitting on the wall of the shed. Was there between 5 and 7 years. When I grabbed it to use, the bottle shattered in my hands. Now that got me thinking, if it cant protect the bottle that it comes in, it isnt

I use 303 for vinyl. I used armor all for twenty years, never liked the grease or the smell.
I went to 303 as it has a good reputation, lasts, and has a UV protection
For me it's always been about protection not appearance.
