Hey guys, I'm looking for a cheapish or secondhand EFI fuel pump I can use with my standard HK tank to feed my VN V6 motor. Any sugestions ?

go to a wrecker, look under cars untill you find one with an external pump. i'm pretty sure VL's have them, as do EFI VK's. i know you are on a tight budget, but if you can stretch it and buy a new pump you will be better off. or find a wrecker that will

VN onwards V8's have external fuel pumps. V6's have an internal as well as an external fuel pump.

Make sure you use a NEW high pressure filter and a surge tank. The cheapest surge tanks I have seen are alloy, sold by American Auto Parts in Homebush. You'll also need a low pressure pump to fed the surge tank.

You don't ABSOLUTELY have to have a surge tank My HQ tonner is running quite happily with a return pipe to the top of the fuel expansion return hose on the filler tube. The surge tank is basically to let the bubbles get out of the returned fuel, and to ma

i made a surge from exhaust tube offcuts,
and earls weld on fittings.
not essential but nice ti have as mentioned.
fits under floor too.

I picked up a little instantaneous electric hot water system at the local tip for $5, it has a copper tank about 1 litre, I reckoned it would be ideal for a surge tank, copper is easy to silver solder or weld and the tank is a nice size and will easily ha

very bottom port goes to main fuel pump next up comes from supply pump (low pressure pump from tank) above that is fuel return line very top is over flow back to tank
